Engineering Rack Changes

Hey video guys!

Just wanted to update you on a few changes that have been made to the Video Engineering Rack.

If you don’t know what that is…it’s this thing:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 
 
The big change is how you power the rack on and off.  It is no longer switched on and off by the power conditioner at the top of the rack. Due to all the recent power outages we have had during our Sunday morning services, we installed some battery backup systems. So, the rack is now powered on and off by the battery backup system.

Look at the bottom of the rack and you will see a big black unit that says CyberPower on it.  That is the battery backup unit.

To turn it on and off, press the second button from the left.  It is labeled with POWER above it.

The other change we made in the rack is how timecode is routed through all the decks.  Ever since we installed the AJA KiPro, we were having weird issues with how the timecode would route through some of the tape decks and you would have to press record on the DSR 1500 to have timecode on the KiPro.  Now you no longer have to do that.  The AJA KiPro now gets direct timecode.

Planning Center Update

Hey Everyone!

I don’t know if you’ve noticed lately, but Planning Center got a big facelift!  They have added a lot of new stuff to this update.  I wanted to highlight one of them today.

Did you know you can go into your profile on Planning Center and set how many times you would prefer to serve a month?  When you have been scheduled that many times, it shows me a message by your name letting me know you’ve hit your quota for the month.

Here’s how to do it.  Click on your name on the top right hand corner of the home screen of Planning Center:

 

 

 

 

 

 
Then at the top of your profile page, click on the assignments tab:

 

 

 

 
 
 
Then there will be a drop down menu that you can click on where is says “Schedule me up to ____ times a month.”:

 

 

 

 

 
 
Just thought I’d share that with you!  Some really cool stuff coming in the future for Planning Center and ProPresenter as well.  I’ll keep you posted on that!

Hey everyone! Welcome to the new Long Hollow Production Blog! We’re really glad that we have been able to set this up.  We want to use this blog for two purposes:

1. We want to use it to share information on the ever-changing production world here at Long Hollow.

2. We want to share things with all of you and start some dialogue about different topics in the production world and it’s role in church production.

Of course, we will use it to share some other things with you as well (funny videos, funny moments at LH, etc.) but we hope to stick to the two purposes above as much as possible.
